Default Mattiaci Out at Ferrari

http://www.racer.com/latest-stories/...i-as-team-boss

What a vicious place Ferrari is! Strikes me this guy was hugely successful as head of FNA and is drafted in to run the F1 team at a point in time when 2014 was already a done deal. Probably worked his *** off in a job he did not volunteer for and now he is dumped from the team and it would appear to me from the comments about well wishes for his future endeavors that he has also been dumped from Ferrari. That just sucks!

Sounds like there is a plan in the works.

The "Peter Principle" in all its glory. They didn't even give the guy time to fail. Ferrari has doomed itself to more years of mediocrity. Mattiacci was at least a car guy, this new Arrivaderchi (Arrivabene) guy looks like some oversexed Italian moviestar, and with all of the qualifications to run a cigarette company, should be exactly what Ferrari needs to continue in its slump for quite a few years.

And, in related news: http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/ferrar...opt-1662545657

The current Ferrari 458 may be the last naturally aspirated mid-engined V8 car to come out of Maranello and there is already talk of collector status. Now those that ordered the ultra hot 458 Speciale are allegedly being told to pay more and add extra options or risk losing the order to someone else.

Motoring Research.com says there were told by lending specialists Magnitude Finance that even though Ferrari dealers are taking the £20,000 (aprox $25,000 USD) deposit, customers are being warned that if another buyer comes along and specs out a more expensive car, that vehicle will take priority on the order.

Ferrari 458 Speciale buyers told “pay more or lose out” - Motoring Research

Collectors fight it out for late examples of Ferrari’s 458 Speciale

"One client ordered the car many months ago but he was subsequently advised to increase the options he selected to guarantee delivery simply because others are prepared to pay over the odds to get one new.

"We have another client who has successfully secured the car using our finance and he said between placing his deposit and the balance, the agent he bought it from contacted him on five occasions to say others wanted to buy it if he changed his mind."

"Everyone we speak to sees this as the next appreciating model over the long-term like the 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia 16M before it, so demand is really high.

"To ensure it is as sought after as possible and commands the highest price in years to come should they decide to sell, they want to be the first and only name on the logbook." - Tim Marlow, Magnitude Finance Director

While many folks will chalk this up as nothing more than a "first world problem," you can imagine the frustration of a Ferrari customer who placed an order months in advance for a car the exact car they desired, only to be told they have spend even more money on options they don't want to in order to maintain their reservation.

Brawn tends to **** excellence from time to time so if Ferrari puts him back at the helm, it may work out.

The problem is Fiat CEO stepping on toes.

I stand by my prediction- not a single podium for Vettel.

about the time they let Brawn go in the first place.
Cemented when they didn't give enough thought to the new engine regime and figured aero would save them. The double whammy that cost Luca his job so he can now deal with lost luggage.

Meanwhile Brawn put together the team that came up with the split turbo.

And now Ferrari they see the error of their ways.

Taking that job was akin to suicide by cop. The motor was fixed...nothing he could do...except play with aero bits.

Ross Brawn is smart enough to know better than to jump aboard Ferrari's currently sinking ship ...
I'm sure he will reappear with a top team at one point when he gets tired of fishing trips !

Cheers

Ths main thing here is that Arrivabene is a good friend with Bernie. What Mattiacci apparently wasn't...
