Default Bad accident at RA Club Race

I won't provide any specifics, but there was a really bad accident at the Road America Club Race. Maybe the worst I've seen. It's been bugging me for a couple of weeks, so I'm hoping someone can confirm that the driver is okay.

Which one there were two? One during practice and another during the sprint race.

I think it was during the sprint race, after the exit of the carousel. I only saw the aftermath (I wasn't on track) and it looked like something broke. Not that I'm any type of expert, but it didn't look like driver error. I don't know the driver, it just stuck in my head. Hope he's alright.

I know and saw one of the drivers in the paddock afterwards and he appeared fine. I'll be at the PCA Autocross tomorrow at the Autobahn and I'll ask around.

Mike, the driver will recover fully. He's even started looking for a replacement car and is excited about coming back to PCA CR as he loves it.

I to was wondering how the driver was doing. I passed the crash soon after it happened, the car was completely destroyed almost cut in two, certainly the worst I have seen. It's very good news that the driver will make a full recovery!

Agreed, good news. And it's a testament to good saftey gear and the strength of a Cup cage!

This is what it looked like just after it occurred as I came through ... very glad to hear he is recovering and looking to return. That car was a mess!

Good Lord... Reminds me of David Pintaric's Viper crash awhile back.

Don't like the fact that that jersey barrier is displaced.

Looks like the throttle was down a LONG time after the trajectory began that eventually left the track...

Glad all are ok...

Yes that was me. Front left lower control arm snapped sending me into the wall at around 90mph. The Cayman did its' job in protecting me! The front end was completely destroyed. I am fine besides a few sore muscles.
