Default Help. Time for new track tires

Can I get some opinions here?
86 911 / beefed up sways, torsion bars etc.
Running the top group in DE.
I wore out my Advan 048's and this is what my tire guy is proposing.

225-45-17 / 255-40-17

Hankook Ventus RS3 - $820.00/set
Bridgestone RE11A - $780.00/set
Kumho Ecsta XS - $1,030.00/set
Dunlop Star Spec2 - $1,050.0/set
BFG G-Force Rival - $990.00/set

Your thoughts?

The A048 is an R-comp, no? So then if you want similar performance, I would go with the most aggressive, track-worthy tire, which rules out the Bridgestones and Kumhos. The Hankook RS3 and BFG Rival would probably both be good choices. They have both gotten excellent reviews for track use in an extreme street tire (not quite an R-comp). The BFG is the latest technology and is generating quite a buzz.

I asked my tire guy what he suggests and this is what he sent me.
He's claiming the Hankook RS3 is better rated and last longer than the A048 even though it is not an R compound.
This is where I am confused. I do not want to take a step back in the grip department.

Yes MPSC expensive-- Phil's tire probably your best bet !! R888 probably perfect for you.

MPSC 2 is out, tw rating is 180 so durability should be about the same as the other EHP tires. They are stupid expensive though. Hankook RS-3 V2 is also recent, new compound for 2014, should be a very fast tire. Also I don't think Star Spec II's are out yet, what they have now is Direzza ZII.

Yokohama AD08R is good choice. With 997 GTS, after 8000 miles/25 track sessions/25 competition autox laps, rears have around 2-3mm left and they can still go for another romp and stomp.

However going from A048, maybe NT01 makes more sense.

I've instructed in cars running RS3's and have been impressed for a street tire. Having said that, if you don't drive your car much on the street, then get the NT01's. If you supplier doesn't have them, get a different supplier
