Shane van Gisbergen is an Aussie V8 Supercars star. He can drive anything and knows Mount Panorama like the back of his hand. He was leading the 2009 Bathurst 1000 (the V8 SC race) until the car wouldn't restart after the pit stop. Man, was he mad!
He started racing in Formula First and Formula Ford about ten years ago...
BTW, you guys with iRacing can drive the RuF on Mount Panorama now. It's an incredible circuit, even to drive synthetically!

The whole lap is incredible, especially the part towards the end of the video where he takes that VERY fast kink to the right and threads the needle past two cars. The Gis is FAST.

The Mercedes SLS AMG has qualified fastest in Class A but I think those things are ugly. So many other beautiful cars though (Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Audi, Lambo, BMW). Hopefully, the Porsches can top the R8s during the race in Class B.

Yeah, that place is bat **** for sure. One of my best friends that I met in Tokyo is a John Bowe's son. He is doing a PhD in comp. sci. in bioinformatics. His brother is a Googler. Not bad I would say; they grew up in Taz. Here is a video of JB 'round there:
