The walls look very close in the simulation, but I've read in other spots were the developers say they are much farther away. Time will tell! Exciting for sure!

I'm sure it's just the simulation, there is no way anyone would build a race track in 2014 lined with concrete walls and rock face on each side.. Wish someone would go up and do a track video, even if it's just dirt rough cut..

And here are the facility models & renderings from Barkow Leibinger...

"The building section of glu-lam timber is angular, dynamic and incrementally changes over its 400-foot length. A back-lot courtyard is formed by the building, which backs up to a terraced landscape. This space is used for shows and pre-race festivities. The construction is intended as pre-fabricated timber frames clad in a metal standing-seam skin on a concrete slab on-grade."

That is pretty exotic for a new track not earmarked for F1! I could care less about that part, all I want is a smooth wide track with lots of runoff for when (not if, when) I go flying off into the wet grass... everything else besides clean rest rooms with heat, AC, hot and cold water and maybe a Gourmet Food Truck and i'm happy.

I'd settle for a smooth track with runoff and clean restrooms! Hopefully this all works out well.

I am sure it is going to be great!

It should be head and shoulders over NHMS and Lime Rock......

Good! Difference will be a new track created from scratch and the resurrection of an old track that pops in/out of an oval. I personally have never liked tracks like that (Pocono) but done right (Daytona?) i'm sure they are very good. We shall see if Thompson (or Palmer) has the jing to do everything to 2014 standards of safety and speed...
