GT vs. F1 speeds
#2
Notice how the F1 cars are seen from a much wider angle lens. Those Formula cars are fast, but not bending space-time fast as that shot will lead you to believe. Also, the other cars look like it's a casual track day outing and not professional GT racing so the difference in speed is even more exaggerated.
For a roadcar vs open wheel/F1 comparison I like this:

I wonder how fast an Enzo would be?

They (F1 cars) are insanely fast though. I remember when attending my first F1 race and the pace car was going by which always looks like it's practically crawling... Guy was hauling serious *** in his AMG but when compared to F1 cars, it was pathetic.
Even more so maybe are the braking distances... Hockenheim in old configuration, first chicane after the looooong straight and they were full tilt (300 km/h+) until about 100 m before the 60 km/h turn... Unreal.

Seems pretty fast to me.

Agree that the speed difference is not "camera tricks" (unless, of course, the video has been sped up - but NOBODY tells lies on the internet, so that cannot have happened......)
The shot is at Spa, from about halfway down the hill from La Source, looking towards Eau Rouge. The video on the left is clearly one of Spa's open track days (highly recommended), not a race (IMHO), with a fun mix of cars. Cars come into frame at about the same point, and exit frame at the same point, so the elapsed time on screen should be comparable.
As seen by the other videos posted, instead of painfully trying to improve your driving to shave a few tenths off your lap time, just buy a retired F1 car and drop 30 seconds.....

F1's really are that much faster ... I remember as a kid watching the F1 Grand Prix at Watkins Glen. This was the late 70s. Back then at a PCA event it was "fast" to be doing under 2:30. Today a GT3 can probably approach 2:00, and cup cars are a few seconds faster. What did a late 70s era F1 do? 1:30. And this was 35 years ago ... Current F1's would be even faster of course.
