Tons of torque and fuel efficiency

A: I own BMWs... had at least 10 of them from '71 2002 on... have one now.

B: This is a Porsche website, but most of us cross-over.

C: The C7 Corvette is a slam-dunk... I'm also a Corvette guy.

D: Watch out for the new Ford Mustang, as this could challenge the M3/4 BMW for 40% less money.

Let the games begin.

When we hear "cup car" in the US it's almost always a Porsche (unless it's NASCAR). In Europe there are more factory "cup" cars, notably Renault Clio, Lotus Evora, etc. The cars come with factory cages and a tight spec for single marque racing. This BMW looks pretty attractive. I wonder where it would fit in BMW CCA club racing....

At least they have the gumption to race a production motor - unlike Porsche (9A1 vs. Mezger).

I think that thing is a beautiful car, at a reasonable price... Much rather have this than a NASA Prototype...

Agree 100%, wonder if it would fit into NASA's GTS3 class?

Should be close. Let's say it weighs 3000 lb with no interior but including a cage. Add 200 lb driver. 333 HP * 0.85 = 283 WHP. 3200/283 = 11.3 lb/WHP, which is very close to maxed out for GTS3.

I got my E46 M3 down to 2800 lbs and had to detune the motor to get into GTS3 with DOT tires, I put carbon fiber doors, hood & lexan glass, so you might be spot on at 3,000 lbs if they are using all metal and glass.

Love the livery, don't trust the mechanical reliability.

My DD is a two series. The F20 platform just cries out for a factory race setup.

The four banger would make a perfectly nice showroom stock spec class, if BMWCCA doesn't already have that covered.
