Hmm.. it's kind of like a really long and bumpier version of Laguna Seca without as much runoff area and with an older track surface. There's concrete patches in various corners that can effect line/grip and not much room for error. It's also really fast with a lot of elevation change. The esses at the start of the lap are entered flat out in 5th gear and you're flat out in 6th gear when you almost clip the wall coming out (at least in the Ferrari, I'd bet it's the same in Cup cars). Last year in the Ferrari we were riding the rev limiter in 6th gear entering the bus-stop.

Can't wait to try it again this year. Our car is *so* much better and easier to drive than last year and I've gotten a little better myself. Should be fun!

Chris, likewise! Sorry about your car...

Ubermensch, I am a big fan of track walks, and doing one at the Glen is amazingly informative

Raptor,

I couldn't agree more. The first time I did one I learned so much I take every opportunity now. The camber and elevation changes are so much easier to understand when you're walking. I often walk off the track realizing how many places I really don't need to brake if I have the confidence to rely on the physics of the track.

Dave thanks for joining us for 4 of the days between the two events. I like to say we are the luckiest group there is to be able to do what we do with the people we have and the track we call home.

I like to say we are the best, but being able to have you give extra pointers and a fresh outlook helps to make us the Premier DE club....

Yeah I love that track and will love closer when I get the chance.... such a beautiful setting.....

How many shot glasses does the Seneca have. Niagara Region knows.... have you seen the petrified finger????

See avatar.

With that said, my last time at WGI was in 2003 and I only got to have three events (5 days with my 911 and 2 days in an Audi A4) there before I went on a 10 year hiatus from DE (job change, getting married, moving, having a kid, and multiple moves since then).

Mike, what car are you driving that goes into the esses flat out in 5th?

I've been leading tracks walks at WGI for CVR twice a year, for several years, and every time I still notice something about the track that I've never noticed before. If you have the opportunity to take a track walk on any track, it's a learning experience.
