if going book early all the planes and boats fill up. Some folk i know even hired a tug and went over in that as there was no passenger space elsewhere

After playing the m/cycle club racer in western Canada buddy and I went over to the IOM for the TT......it is unbelieveable what those guys are doing and the crowds are litterally standing a foot away with beers in hand!

When we create a street course for cars, we try to find the tightest, twistiest roads, which is often a hillclimb with switchbacks. Climbing the hill also slows us down. These guys find the straightest roads in town and go flat out. I bet they wish it was downhill. Insanity.

The IOM TT course is 37 miles long and a good section of the mountain course is downhill; Guthrie Memorial to Creg ny Bah is ferocious fast.

more like old school LeMans on public roads, before chicanes, run off, gravel traps, flattening of hills and bumps, etc

Should come as no surprise then that the recent record in a car was done by a rally driver. Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end. He makes an amazing catch at 150mph!!! that they show late in the video.

I have a good friend with a house on the course and I finally went over for TT week a couple of years ago. Its all this and more. If you like bikes and beer, there is no equal.
If you respect speed and courage on track it redefines "flat out".

We would like to think the fact that he had our diffs under him giving him traction and control were why he caught it but we know better. That was all driver...
