Jim, I have been really looking at upgrading my wheel for no good reason to the 918 wheel if I ever get an invite. If I do I will be looking to sell my GT3 wheel.
Never mind we are thinking the same upgrade.

I had a Fanatec GT2 prior to the ClubSport V1. I'm probably going to order the 918 Wheel as well... Looks like a nice piece.

Ok and you feel that going from the GT3 to the CSW was definitely a worthwhile upgrade? It's that much nicer?

Really, Alan and Sean work on the set-ups are perfect for me. If only I could have that same kind of set-up for the BMW Z4, I'd be happy! I'm a much better driver with that car than with the GT3R. I fit in the car more naturally.

Looking forward tonight.

Got down to a 48.5 last night with an opt of 47.3, just could not put it together, still needs a little work but pretty solid. Agree with Jim, hard to get to the old records with the new build, has changed quite a bit.

Not even close.

The GT2 felt like a very nice toy, the CS feels very high end. Feels like it costs. And i love the ability to change wheels... When I'm running open wheels, I just go to my F1 rim. GT cars get the Bimmer CSL.

http://www.fanatec.com/us-en/wheel-b...ase-v2-us.html

I have my own home-built pedals, utilizing a master cylinder out of an old International Scout (connected to a Ford Powerstroke ICP sensor, wired to a Plasma-Lite USB board) for pressure sensitive brakes, plus a drive-by-wire throttle pedal out of an International 4700 truck.

So the only thing out of my G27 setup that really gets any use is the wheel itself. Pedals are still in the box, unused, and while I have the G27 shifter mounted (specifically for the buttons) once I bought a separate flight stick joystick, I re-mapped all the buttons and no longer use it, either. I have a standalone TSW shifter so I don't need the G27 shifter at all. I'd wind up giving it all to my son.

But $1,100 is a tough nut to swallow to upgrade the wheel (as I want the 918 wheel to go with it)..... I *really* want to declare a credit card emergency and do it... but can't quite get to that point. All of the YouTube reviews I've seen have said pretty much "It's a great wheel, it's better than the $300 units, but still really considered a "consumer" product. It doesn't really compare to the "professional" wheels like the ECCI 7000, SimWheel, etc."

At $1,100 for a friggin wheel, IMO, the thing should be pretty spectacular.
Jim I have the CS base and 918 wheel and new club sport pedals, the wheel is a huge improvement from the GT3RS wheel I had previously. The pedals are really amazing, I mounted them inverted, unbelievable braking feel. Fanatec gave me 200 bucks off the new base so I ordered one, supposed to be here early Dec, will believe that when I see it. But I would wait until it is available, 2 things will happen it will be significantly better then the old base which is what they are claiming, then I would spend the money on the new base. or it will be only marginally better, either way there should be some good deals on used bases and wheels out there.

Yeah with the GT2. The force feedback feels like you are "clicking" through gears as it fights your hands (similar to the G27). With the ClubSport, its one solid force feedback and makes sense to your natural responses.

I'm having trouble with my Logitech G27, so I borrowed my son's G27 he now wants it back.

The problem I have now is that I put a Perfect Pedal in the Logitech pedal set and I like it a lot. But I'm not fond of the wheel. So I would need to find a wheel that would accept that, as I don't want to spend 2K$ on another set-up...

Does the ECCI 7000 would make a good wheel? Even then, I configured one for 1457$... Not cheap...

Depends on the wheel. From what I've seen, all of the Fanatec wheels support the Logi pedals if you buy an adapter from them.

And thanks for the feedback on the CSW.

Place that has them in stock is in Canada. Their website won't take international orders. Been going back and forth with email but they're a little slow. Waiting to find out if there's extra taxes/duties placed on top of the purchase price before pulling the trigger. It's pricier than normal but if I can have it now vs. waiting until April (when my sim rig generally starts collecting dust) then I'm considering paying for it.

Otherwise I'll just wait until next winter.

All the results are up at DanLisa.com: http://www.danlisa.com/scoring/seaso...season_id=3786

Tony has 1st wrapped up, but the battle for second is wide open. Drop weeks will become a factor next week, so we will see how it shakes out. It will be a curb hopping good time in a beautiful city.
