StopTech - End of an era??? Replacement help!
I have been running StopTech ST-60s on my Cayman GTB1 for years, as most of you in the racing Cayman world have as well. My current front calipers have seen better days. So, I ordered a new set of StopTech Trophy front calipers about three weeks ago. (Shout out to David Zeckhausen Racing, awesome to work with.)
Today I just received a refund from them and long apology, with the attached notice. Basically, they are stopping US operations. "StopTech has shut down USA operations".
Total bummer as we have tons of spares for these, and have them on 3 of our cars.
Having said that, anyone have any suggestions for 6-piston front caliper for a racing application they would recommend? Or a set of StopTech ST-60s on their shelf they want to get rid of? lol

996 GT3 front calipers adapted for 987 uprights by Wildwood. Much more reliable than Stoptech. I would have spares if you need them, but I do not have the Wildwood adapters.

Curious.....how do these compare to 6 piston caliper? Bite, stopping, pedal feel, etc.

6 and 7 gt3 front calipers r both 6 piston. But the piston diameters r different between them. My 6-3 set up has no problem stopping my 3200lb pig and 6 cup cars.
Edit: 7-3 calipers would probably be better as there r more of them and the caliper mounting is symetric and will allow being spaced out to a 380mm rotor. Also i think rotor selection would be easier because of the standard c2/boxer upright hub/hat spacing. The 6-3 parts r kinda unique.

This has been coming for more than a year.
If I remember correctly, StopTech was first bought by Centric which is a generic/low grade brand company/heavy Chinisium and owned by private equity A. And then last year Centric (including StepTech and the other brands they own) were sold to another PE firm. The new PE firm is executing the standard play book: squeeze the people, layoff all that you can, combine back office, low low lowest cost, cut R&D, "capture" the synergy savings, ..., claim victory, flip to someone else.

So not much of a difference compared to the usual experience of everything being back-ordered for the last couple of years. Better off buying rotors from other companies and there's lot of options for brake pads. At least the calipers are pretty sturdy and the pistons and seals are somewhat easy to find.

Wow! That's bad news! I used their products when they developed the SCCA T1 brake kit on my car. Those brakes were bullit proof. I think I still have a pair of unused trophy rotor rings in 14" if anyone needs them better get them now. I had to switch on corvette #2 to willwoods to run in spec corvette. I was shocked at how much the chepo wilwoods have improved. Willwood has even adopted a fantastic locking snap ring system to mate the rings to hats. The ring to hat change is now 30 seconds! Go Wilwood! I have not seen AP or Brembo go to this newer design on a large scale . I had the snap ring system on my mustang GT racecar but those were discontinued. That company I forgot their name did make the snap ring system for porsches.

I had StopTechs on my 987.1 and thought they were good. When I moved to a 987.2 I transferred the brakes and it was a nightmare - they just didn't work properly even after a complete rebuild. I also felt like I went through more brake pads and did not see a performance enhancement. Maybe I had a bad set of calipers but I have not been a fan of StopTech.
Moving from Compton to Ciudad Juarez seems like moving from guns and lawlessness to guns and lawlessness.

Going to have to go a different route for sure now.
