I went for minimal weight in the new car. Simple piece of alumicore. Very easy to work with.

Tim, is that a fan on the floor of the first pic? I was going to ask what you did about demisting.

No, not a fan, not sure what you are looking at. I use a rag for demisting

Nice job Tim!

Might have something coming up in a few weeks.

A friend of mine is designing a fiberglass dash with a Racepak IQ3. Save the DME and main harness, they will redo all the electricity.

Should be top notch.

Brant, i will most likely forget this thread in the very near future, so if you want some pictures, send me a pm in a few weeks from now!

All new, color-coded wiring!

More info in this thread:

Used textured paint on aluminum to reduce glare.

In the 1st picture on the right hand side of the driver's footwell, there's a little round black and silver looking thing...but now that I look I think it's the 2nd large gauge that's not in place in the picture.

So to the rest of you guys, what do you do about demisting and even heating?
Love the dash in the Pink car. That's very similar to what I'm doing shortly. Love to see a few more detailed pics showing all the various gauges and switches?

The "gauges" are all contained in the one digital dash display. No other gauges in the car. In the right side (second) picture the steering wheel hub adapter is in place in front of the digital dash. The small white circles above the switches are various circuit breakers, which we use instead of fuses. The switches activate the ignition (starting is accomplished via a starter button), radiator fan, fuel pump, cool shirt/helmet blower power and Accusump. Out of the camera shots are switches for the wipers and our really big headlights. Near the dash display, there are also buttons and an up/down switch to program/activate and toggle through pages on the dash.

In these shots we had not yet mounted the pull cable for the master cut-off switch that mounts at the A-pillar, along with the extinguisher pull.

You can get (in Australia anyway)heated windscreens for demisting, most effective solution. The 944 challenge cars use them. I can't vouch for their effectiveness but worth a thought.
