Default Jim Buckley Wheel experiences?

Respond to the Keizer thread, was brought to my attention that people may not recognize the brand wheel Jim sells. I want to know about durability mostly.

Thanks

I'm hoping they are very durable. I just picked up a set. I'll use them this coming weekend at TWS during PCA DE. I'm anxious to see the difference between them and the current 16" Fuchs I have on now.

Whack a few curbs real good for me will ya?

Sounds like they got the tires on them w/o destroying them, that's a good sign too!

Defiant, is that a '74 Carrera or a clone? I have a '74 US Carrera that looks just like that. It is now a PCA race car.

Knowing Jim personally, I would say anything he sells to others would be of the utmost quality.

Not doubting his integrity, and he has been great with responding to questions. I just want to hear from some of the guys that have been running those wheels and for some reason the world has gone silent....

A customer of mine got 2 sets last year great wheels lite weightand noticeable performance improvement. The only down side is they must be mounted by experienced tire shop with good equipment or they can be bent.

But hitting curbs on the race track doesn't bend them? I'm confused, they sound quite fragile...

No the rims are not fagile, the way they are made straping tires on them is a pain in the ***. On the track the rims are no more **** to bending than any othe rim that you will run.

How much does a set of Buckley wheels cost? For some reason the website says "Call for pricing."

IIRC l got a quote from Buckley of about $2500 in mid 2009 (?)

I've seen PCA Racer w/ Buckley 15x9 on rear with stock 15x7 Fuchs at front. Reasonable option.

Contact Ryan Dettling - ryan@jongbloedracing.com . Great guy, very responsive and the prices are reasonable for the quality.
