Default Wanted - 20-24' Enclosed trailer

Before I start running down the Craigslist and RacingJunk ads - Does anyone in CA (or driving distance from the Bay Area) have an enclosed trailer 20'-24' for sale ?

Finally decided to step up from an open to enclosed.

Thanks

Thanks though.

Jerry.... Go with a 24footer. 20's are nice, but a 24 works even better. You set-up a bench infront of the car and have full access even with the car there.

3500lbs axles are not ideal, but can work if you get the right price. My 24 has 3500lbs axles and all seems ok. I can't take EVERYTHING, but I can still take alot.

What is you tow vehicle?

Default 2005 Haulmark Race Trailer

This one is very clean. I took out the tire rack and tool box. It has air, electric tongue jack and a nice awning. PM me an offer and we can talk. Thanks,

Thanks for all the info -

SMR996 - A 28' would be too much for my tow vehicle. Thanks though. I will pass on your link to one of the other 944 drivers here in NorCal who might be interested.

Inverterman - I have a lead on one here in the Bay Area - I should know by mid-week. If that falls through I'll contact you. What size is yours ?

Thanks everyone else for the leads.

it is a 24 footer. Let me know, I want to put it out on the corner and into craigslist. I agree with buying from folks you know or vicariously know. This has been used but not abused.

By the way, are you sure you want an enclosed? It is a slippery slope.

is this the jerry i see on track all the time with PRC?
20' is really tight. i had my for 3 months sold it.
buy the 24', struggle with your van. then you WILL buy a truck. just trust me.
the 10k 20' TPD is too much. i sold my brand new highly upgraded 20' tpd. i mean less than 1000 miles for $13k.

buy the best trailer you can. it's MUCH more important than the race car.

In that case a 20 will probably be the limit.

My Dodge has a 10k towing limit and does fine with a 24'. Since my 24's is ony rated to 7k. I put all my spare tires, & canopy weights in the bed of the truck. I also have most of the gear weighted on the tongue. So I figure the trailer axles are carrying thier weight, plus the car and the tongue is carrying most of the gear. This way am not over loading the 3500lbs axles. This does mean more rear axle weight on the truck, but with an equalizing hithch I put more weight on the front end keeping the truck level. The one nice thing about the V10 is that being lighter than a diesel I get more payload capacity.

Invertman... Nice trailer.

RE TPD trailers.... They may be nice, but always seem quite pricey. Not sure why. I guess you can tell looking close up.

Even so a 20footer should be possible for 5k-6k or under. That was pretty common for what I was looking last year for one. I got lucky on my 24footer being 1 year old and well under 5k. Certainly not a nice a Invertman's,but still nice enough to get the job done.

I know how steep the slope is. But yes - enclosed is the next step (followed by the new tow vehicle etc etc etc as John says !)
