I also use ramps where I back up the tow vehicle onto the ramps to lift the front end of the trailer up so that the angle at which my car exits the trailer does not rip my spoiler off.

I have driven in once and it was not easy exiting my car due to the fender wells in my Classic 24' trailer.

I did the truck ramps a few times with my open Featherlite. Third time the F350 was ever so off center and ramp started to fold. Bent about 3" down in the middle.

I have a winch with remote but never used it yet, I just drive in and drive out. Give some one a beer to hold his hand between door and wall..

I don't think the clutch suffers too much.

What's the consensus on tie downs and anchor points? I've tried ankle straps through my wheels but I'm concerned about alignment and suspension issues. Suggestions?

Sorry. I use Macs tie downs and bought the 36" "axle straps with sleeve." This works for me when I have 255/17 wheels (Boxster) and a relatively short distance between my wheels and the tie down area. When I tow my 911 with 305/19 rubber, I need to use 40" straps to get around the wheel. I go all the way through the wheel (inside-outside) and not just a spoke.

I know there have been lots of threads about whether or not this is bad for the alignment. With the forces that the car experiences on the track, I just feel intuitively like the tie down forces shouldn't be a big deal. But who knows!?

I also have the Rennline jack point tie down bracket on my front but since I switched to an enclosed trailer I do not use them as they would be difficult to access. Now I just lasso the front wheels.

Should we get into the crossed versus uncrossed thing now?????

Also they do not work well on a rocky driveway! So far, mine have held up but I know what you mean.
