Default AIM gear calibration

figured id ask the gurus up here...have a boxster, i put an AIM mXL dash in it that i had in the SM want to just see how that goes . was easy enough. no can bus, rpm comes off a a coil cable from the odb port. etc.

anyway, question relatest o gear calc. i know ive done it before and you access the menu from the buttons.... my questio is, do i have to clear out whats in there or just go in there and run the gear calc.
nand when you run it, whats the procedure, just go through each gear for a few seconds in each gear?....get to 5th gear, go neutral, park it, turn off the car?
i find the manual a bit confusing.

suggestions?

Run the calc, it'll write over the old one.

Do it as you leave the pits, but don't rev too much getting going.

Go to around 4000 in each gear, every gear and in order.

Don't let the revs drop to idle between gears.

Done.
