Post Parade DE at Lowe's Speedway (video)
Just got back from the post-Parade DE at Lowe's Motor Speedway put on by Carolinas region PCA. Fantastic event and once again another great run Carolinas DE event.
I only ran the first day as the high speed banking is fun but I just don't have the man parts to run full tilt for 2 straight days in a car built and setup for a road course. Still, a ton of fun and managed to put together some good laps. Was able to crank out some 1:24 to 1:25 best times. Top speed entering the NASCAR 3 turn at the end of the back straight was just over 150 and that is very scary. Gotta give props to the NASCAR guys going in at almost 200 with pedal down!
Enjoy the clip. My apologies in advance for the crappy camera as it seemed to freaked out on the bank and didn't know which was was up trying to apply image stabilization

looks like you had a blast, dell.
what camera and what tires were you on?
i took a tour at the track, the banking is 3-5 stories higher than the flat part!

Dell.................I am sorry I did not have the opportunity to meet you in person.
Or course, me in Green and you in ????, the best I could get into 3 was 129mph and only maintained 103 through the banking. It seemed like I was a little leary of getting over 95 or so around Lowe's turn 2.
I was a little on the conservative side with my new born........3 months old.
But it certainly was a blast and with short lap times we were all able to get many laps in per session.
Did you notice how much easier Lowe's was on the tires than CMP?
PS thanks for the video......Jack

Great job Jack!
129 is pretty dang fast! I looked at some of my data and it looks like my speed going into 3 was 150 and then came down to about 115-120 into the bank and was pretty much 115 until I got back on the gas between NASCAR 3&4.
I totally understand being conservative. On a track like Lowe's you do NOT have the forgiveness you have at a road circuit. Remember the car in my first session on Friday (red) that crunched the wall between 3&4??? Not a pretty site to see.
Not just tires, but brakes as well!!!

I don't know the whole story, but from what I heard (and somebody can correct me if they know) there was a Cayman (I think) that was pointing by everybody and basically came to a stop (not literally) just after the exit of NASCAR 3 giving points and then tried to get down to the apron.....and then the chain reaction started

I think what happened in that instance was the checkered had been thrown, and some people saw it , and some didn't. I saw that happen on Friday, but am not certain if that was the session or not.

Dear God! I just went back and watch frame by frame and I see the checker. Talk about a serious F*&$ UP! The two times I have run that track I have always hated that station since it is in a position that is not natural to a line of sight and intentionally looking to the left while trying to track out by the concrete wall to the right is dangerous. Why they don't throw the checker at the S/F and let us have a cool down lap is beyond me. Heck, throwing it at the infield flag station is better being right in your line of sight. Almost like the flag station heading out to NASCAR 2 was an afterthought.
With that said, for Pete Tremper, the red GT3 and me to all miss the flag says something. I didn't see it and just went with the group WOT into the oval!
My apologies to the Cayman (and others) that saw the checker
