Default Noise Restrictions

I am looking to see what types of Noise Restrictions you guys have run into during DEs. I just put a zork pipe (essentially a j-pipe right off the turbo) on my 930 which eliminated the relatively ineffective muffler that I had on there. Its definitely louder but I have to believe that the guys in full on race cars are significantly louder.

The tracks that I typically frequent are: Road America, Gingerman, Grattan, Putnam and Blackhawk.

Thanks!

Can't speak for any of those tracks, but me and A930Rocket run Zorks all the time for the most part at VIR, CMP, Road Atlanta, Lowes, and I have at Barber.

Guess it just depends on the track.

Only time I run into an issue at Road Atlanta is on Sunday between 10:00-12:30 - they have this LONG quiet hour(days it seems) when I can't run.

Most track websites will list the dbl level you're allowed to run. If not, call them. Most tracks that I know don't enforce the restrictions, however Roebling Road in Savannah does. It's a 103 dbl. max and they measure on the driver's side at start/finish or thereabouts.

Brian, my car won't pass. It's about 104-105. Is mine louder than yours? That would give 930LDR some idea.

Your car is probably louder than mine. The turbo muffles it a little for us 930s...

Even with that, it doesn't take much to pass. Just find where they measure and turn the exhaust either down or away from the sensor. I have a dynaflow muffler I bold on. Gets it down to 100. I've seen monster engines that blow my ears pass w/a little creativity.

Brian. I've never heard yours...guess I'm always in front

Cool... I know gingerman has strict requirements as there is a church down the street. The others I'll have to check the websites.

Anyone use anything particularly accurate and cheap to check db levels?
