Here are some threads that will point you in the right direction:

The toe strap or 944 tow hook look promising.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Eric. I think I'm going to have something fabricated for the rear.

FWIW, I ran full treat RA1s as wets in my first 944SuperCup series. By the next year, the field had latched on the Hoosier wets, which were a MUCH faster wet tire than the RA1. Of course, five of the first three races were wet races! I had some catching up to do that year.

Wow, old thread.

Hoosier wets, Hoosier wets, Hoosier wets. You can wave to everyone who is running something else as you pass them.

Ok, Ill keep this old thread going. I have a set of Hoosier wets that are at least a year old and maybe two as I got them second hand but no heat cycles at all. I have not had the oportunity to use them yet. How long do you think they would be usefull just sitting around waiting for their day in the sun er I mean wet?

Depends a bit on how they've been stored. My RA-1s had been sittign on teh trailer rack for maybe a year, and had developed a nice rock-hard surface. Positively dangerous in the wet. Took 'em out and punished 'em for a few laos in the dry, and they came right back to good again. If you find your are a little hardened, try getting them hot with a few laps in the dry. Don't overdo it - the Hoosier wets are a LOT softer than RA-1s.

i'd guess that they are still good to go for at least another couple of years...assuming they weren't stored in the sun i guess....

i have a set of wets that is 3 years old now and has seen a LOT of use...from snowy conditions to hot drying track...this year they will be used as intmerdiates as i'm getting a new set...i have been pretty successful this year on the old set, even after so much use/abuse...they stay in my enclosed trailer year round...seems that wets last forever if you dont run them on dry track...

Thanks! I keep them cool in my garage most of the time. They still feel soft for the most part. Maybe this is the year I get to use them. Not that Im wishing for a rain race
