When you get the news? The OMB web site still lists the case as open (although the take a few days to update the site). Great news if it's true.

NER has a DE scheduled; it was in this month's Pano.
NER also had a DE the first season BeaveRun was open....I remember there were not a lot of folks who made the trip of about the same mileage.

It's my understanding though, that the OMB was supposed to have made a decision a few days ago on the case. So the paving tender may be accurate. If so, then I have to find out who has the first event and get signed up

Hey;

Having done a dozen-or-so laps there last year, I can say I'm pretty confident it will be a fun layout. I too am looking forward to it!

Bruce... you out there with an update for us?

to Bad there are not list users that can shed some light on this rumor so we can understand when we can book an event

I seriously doubt the NER event will happen. If paving starts now it will take at least a couple weeks and most likely more. Then you need to let the new surface sit for a while to cure properly. In the middle of summer that would be close to 2 months. So late September is the best we can hope for. But if it gets the green light I will be there for sure.

So far every indication has been that the owners want to do it right and give sufficient time for the surface to cure. There have been too many examples of torn up tracks where there was too big a hurry to let cars run. The latest one is the F1 circuit in Montreal. Last year it was fun to watch them apply "quickrete" on Friday night.

I personally know Klaus. So far every bit of news about Calabogie from him has been spot on. He lives very close to the track and is very well informed on the goings on.

OK, OK I hate answering when I don't have specifics yet, but Stacy put so much effort into that last post, I have to.

For those who don't know, I am one of the developers of CMP, which really means I have way more gray hair than I did three years ago.

In mid-May we went through the final hearing with the Ontario Municipal Board, where both sides were given one last chance to present arguments for and against, all based on zoning and legal precedents. Needless to say, we are condifent that we have prevailed, and we are preparing to move ahead with paving as soon as the board returns the official ruling. We expect that ruling any day, and as soon as we get it the world will know one way or the other how it turned out.

All I can say is that things look promising, however, we will not rush the opening if the ashpalt is not cured, as we have no desire to redo the track next year, nor to put in concrete patches ala most other tracks.

Keep the faith, it'll happen.

Tks for jumping in Bruce. If I can make it through the Targa Nfld in one piece I am looking forward
to running at Calabogie before the snow flies.
The motorheads in the Ottawa Valley appreciate all your efforts.
Regards, Geoff
P.S. Thanks for the check ride at the last PCA event- soon to be the slowest car in "black".
