Default Enclosed trailer tire rack install

Okay. This may sound really stupid but, I bought an 8' folding tire rack to install on the interior wall of my 24' enclosed trailer. I figured the wall mounting instructions would come with the rack but guess what, nothing. I have never looked at the racks to see how others have theirs installed. So, how do you guys have yours mounted? Did you go clear through the side or just screw into the studs. I think I know the answer and feel it is obvious but...

If anyone has any pics that would be great. TIA

John I screwed my 4' rack into the 24 oc steel studs with #12 x 2inch self taping screws with a fender washer. One of the upper screws has come loose repeatedly, so Im going to drill thru the stud completely and install a 1/4 inch bolt with double nuts. I'm open to suggestions on bolting, I want to assure that the aluminum rack and tires/rims don't come crashing down on my car....

I bought a tool called a quick-thread to set blind nuts (kind of like a giant pop-rivet). It works pretty well on blind fastening, and all of the Ford vans that I have with factory installed shelving use them. They are pretty strong because the sheet metal around them tears first. Here's what the nuts look like:

thanks guys. I think I may go the quick thread route and have even thought that I could buy some of the wall anchors used for hanging heavy framed paintings/pictures/mirrors. I am a little nervous about using screws alone since I'll have 8 wheels and tires hanging over the car with only three mounting rails.

John,

Another option is to tap threads into the studs. I did this in both of my Featherlites and works like a charm.
