Have a story idea you might dig...especially if you want to challenge the notion of stationary CGTs.

Hmm.. I guess I would qualify for this. I didn't buy my car as a financial investment of any kind, I actually really enjoy using it. I've had it on multiple road trips, the longest being 1,600 miles in just a few days. It's just too good of a car to let sit. Truth be told I recently made a deal to Trade the car in on another lower mile collector car because I have over 19k miles on the car now and I thought this might be the smart time to unload it? After a lot of sleepless nights I decided to keep it and buy the low mile collector car outright. I've sold too many Porsches in the past that I look back upon and really regret. I'm not sure I could live with myself if I let go of the cgt. 20k+ miles...who cares! I'm going to keep enjoying this car as long as I possibly can! Looking forward to the next 20k miles.

I know quite a few people with CGT's and we occasionally get together and drive. I've never heard anyone say "that's too far" or "I don't want to drive that many miles" (maybe they think it). For me, the CGT is my favorite car, but I also enjoy other hobbies and other cars... so I'm lucky if I drive my CGT a couple of times a month. I will ALWAYS have at least one CGT until I simply cannot get in or out of one anymore... even then, I may just drain the fluids and look at it when I'm old.

Here's mine, sadly only around 300 miles this year, owned for 10 years and plan on adding several thousand miles next year, off for it's 3rd engine out service in January. From memory the most I did in 12 months was around 6000 miles.

I got mine in September with 8,100 miles on it. I've put 1,500 on in three months and have no plans to slow down. I agree, it's too nice of a car not to drive and enjoy it.

Main reason I did so few miles was my 991RS arrived end of 2015 and I did around 6.5k miles during 2016.

^ my 991RS arrived july 2016, i got about 2k on it now. if it had more seats, then i would have 10000 miles now just shuttling the two kiddies to ballet and little league.

Have right at 30K on the car. Recently had engine out service when original clutch was replaced (due primarily to clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid on the discs and causing their deterioration - still had plenty of thickness on the remaining material). Taking delivery of 991 RS at month end (currently on slow boat from Germany) and anticipate driving the CGT less due to the RS purchase. Longest trip in car was when I flew in to Pennsylvania to pick up the car and drove it home .... 1300 miles plus.

I hope you don't find it rude of me for asking but, mind if I ask what was the other collector car in question?

Easy solution, strap one of them to the wing!
