F40 vs CGT question.
#2
Tough question for sure.
Ones a hammer the others a scalpel. You will not find better engineering than a CGT. Unique engine, carbon EVERYTHING down to the clutch. Every piece inside and out is a work of art, it's an 90's LMP1 car for the road. Built like a fine watch.
Long term my money is on the CGT. It's just that unique and has not yet been fully appreciated. Actually considering trading some cars to get an F40 at the moment mind you. They are both so good for analogue street racers.
The CGT is more impressive, more intimidating and much more skill is required to pilot it. The F40 a little kit car feel but smaller which is fun. The CGT is much much faster and basically telepathic in control. Very agile and direct at any speed. One of 5 cars having a carbon tub, manual combo.
F1, CCX, Zonda, CGT, F50. That's a rarified set of supercars.

I'm not so sure about that. I would venture a guess and say those that would trade their CGT for an F40 are few.

A CGT is just more impressive as a machine can't deny it. F40's are great cars no doubt about it though.
It's about 15yrs younger than a F40 mind you. In 15yrs my money is on a CGT. Both will appreciate from here.

Over the years I had 3 CGT and 1 F40...I like to drive my cars so CGT always had a clear edge vs the F40!
Emotionally the F40 is unbeatable and every time I see one I get excited like a kid, but if I want to go for a good drive I know which one I'll take...
Ideally you should have both!

If I could buy 4 more I would. I love the CGT immensely. I think now is a good time to buy driver quality CGT but not sure if driver quality will ever turn the corner to collectable. Collector quality CGT still pricey for good reason.

Totally agree! The last one I bought is "driver quality"...never made a better choice!! I can finally use it as much as I want, go on track, do Euro trips and give zero f**k about resale value and so on! I'm a free man now!!!

It looks tough to go on a decent drive in a CGT through Europe based on the storage capability. Do you find this?
