Default 918 Mark Ups Going Down?

Around 6 months ago I noticed 918 prices at around 2 million and lately they are hovering around 1.5 million. I asked my Porsche dealer what it would take to get into one and they said that if I finance or lease the car, that the mark up must be taken care of in cash which doesn't include the down. I was curious if you feel that more 918s would flood the used market in the near future? Would it further drive down the mark up? Or do you feel that the price would stay strong at 1.5 million?

I would never lease a 918 nor even finance one in this environment. Things are perceptually stable with the global economy, but if sovereign debt gets contagious and becomes 2008 version 2.0, things will get bad in a hurry. Here's my suggestion: Don't buy one 918 unless you can afford two of them. Cash. Capital is a coward, cars have enjoyed a nice run up in prices due to lots of currency artificially pumped into the economy. Proceed with caution.

Why would you ever lease a 918? Why would lease you an appreciating asset in the long term? Unless you are a billionaire with company expenses where you can write off a lease of a vehicle like the 918, it makes absolutely no sense.

Expensive cars get leased way more often that you think. Cars 1mln , 5, mlm, 10mln, 20mln get leased all the time. Does not mean you don't have the $$$ on paper but often people would rather use the $20mln elsewhere and have it working for them and will pay to lease a car like this. High end art loans common as well no different than a billionaire taking a mortgage on a $40mln apartment also common. Very common.
