A simple question about the so-called "bubble"

actually higher rates don't cause panic, lower rates do. Higher rates you can make more money doing things that have less risk. so the question is wld you sell some nice cars to buy munis? I personally wld not.

From an article in the NYT last summer:
But comparing cars to fine art as an asset class may be premature, Mr. Beard said. “Art is at least a generation or two ahead, and I’m not sure vintage cars will ever get there,” he said. “Cars aren’t a pillar of Western culture. They’re a consumer utility good. Their history is only a little over 100 years, compared to centuries for art.” He added that, in contrast to art, they’re difficult to transport, store and maintain. “No one would have considered cars as an investment until 20 years or so ago.”

I actually take the other side of this - I have many high performance cars and driving them around on the street at speed limits isn't the most fun or exciting thing at all. id much rather hang out with my kids in the back yard. I get more enjoyment from going to look at my cars with my kids than I do taking them out for a drive around town. call me crazy

Obviously that's hard to understand for someone that loves to throw these cars sideways on track and listen to the amazing engines closing redline.
But, there is no right or wrong. And I agree driving high performance cars around town is very frustrating. So I just don't do it.

well there are 168 hour in a week. I spend about 50 to 70 hours a week on work including traveling. figure about another 40 to 50 hours is sleep with any luck. so that leaves about 50 hours a week, or my weekends. 3 kids under 10, soccer, baseball, 5 other things etc.
I love the cars for what they are - brutal reality is making time to drive them isn't easy and not a very high priority in my life. and yes driving an f40 around town to get coffee can be interesting - but really doesn't do much for me

I have 2 boys 10 and 12! Do like to go to the track but some of my favorites drives have been through the LA canyons with my sons. To each his own if you like to look at them in the garage OK by me. When I got my 458 It was a year old and had 1100 miles. I drove it 3000 miles in the first month.

don't get me wrong - I love driving my cars - I have an FF I bought new (first one in the northeast) with 22k miles that I drive thru the winter...I have a 458, 430 spider that I drove a lot...
the really special/rarer/older cars are just lest usable given where I am in life right now and to be honest I like seeing low miles on my f40/cgt/countach/CS/512tr/612oto/diablo etc
having the 458 and FF as daily drivers gets me a lot of the experience the other cars get me as well...
