Default my 918 is here!!!

picked it up last night... crappy iPhone pics for now - will ask my GF to take better pictures this weekend when I take the car out.

things I don't like so far: having to turn off A/C every time the car starts -- is there a way to program the car so that A/C stays off? i am so pissed at myself that i let Germany talk me into adding back A/C into my Weissach car after I specified A/C delete originally. i should have trusted my gut.

I just wanted to ask, my car was delivered around 2 weeks ago and I received a call from porsche today saying, please do not drive the car as they are all getting recalled for the electrical loom getting to too hot/fire from the heat of the engine.. has anyone else heard this today.

What was the "Custom Tailoring Option" that required 25' of "further Vehicle Cable?"

those are two different line items. the Custom Tailoring Options is just cut off. they don't understand concept of line width in Germany

64k for special tailored options? I'm guessing all work to make the WP car look like a non-WP car (+6k to get the standard wheels? did they deliver the Magnesium wheels as well?).

Did all 918s pay 27k to air mail the car to the US?

should arrive any in a week or two, given that it already completed building, but who knows with Porsche...

The early cars all had free air freight.

Then Porsche switched to regular surface shipping, and with the 27k airfreight as an option.

Your words " i am so pissed at myself that i let Germany talk me into adding back A/C into my Weissach car after I specified A/C delete originally."

My first thought was not you actually order two 918s!!! If so, thats so cool.

i can see your confusion. yes i did order two 918s - one regular one and one weissach. i spec'd my weissach with "A/C delete" but let the factory talk me into putting A/C back into the car right before it got built... and now I am kicking myself for that.

I just wanted to say congratulations on another stunning world class accomplishment!

Thanks for sharing and hopefully you'll bring it to Monterey in Sept and the 458 in Aug.

Congrats.

I wonder if there is a special registry for those who own two 918s ...
