As above.

Then when / if you sell it the prospective buyer will not try to get the price down because it is not an original US car.

They were asking 425k GBP for it. Not sure how much it actually sold for or if it has actually sold. A lot of cars advertised do not physically exist. They are on websites to generate interest so that they can source others for clients who ring up.

I have been offered sub 10K km cars for the equivalent of 330K GBP.
Thanks for the insight. It seems totally crazy they would be so much more in Europe.

If as the OP says the car is a 1 of 1 PTS car I highly doubt the fact that it's European will price it down. On the contrary being a PTS car will most definitely outweigh the fact that it's a euro car and collectors will pay big bucks for it both now and in the future. I say if your willing to go through the tedious process go for it, you will end up owning a very special CGT and the market will show that.

I'm not sure about that.

The 1 of 1 PTS car (orange) with only 200 odd miles on it in the US only bid to around 620k USD a couple of weeks ago.

They are asking the equivalent of 920K USD for the blue one with almost 10,000 miles on it. BTW there are at least 2 midnight blue ones in the UK so it is not 1 of 1.

I would certainly not base the value of the PTS Orange car on its eBay high bid. That is not the primary check-writing audience for that car.

I agree, I don't understand why the owner of that car doesn't consign the car to an auction house. My choice would be Gooding Co's Amelia Island auction, P-Cars have a history of doing really well there

I spoke to the owner of the orange car. He wants $850K in his pocket and is not in a rush to sell. FWIW, the new owner of the 1/1 Scuderia red wants $1mm for his.

Ok. Still less than the 920K USD asking price for the blue UK car with 10,000 miles on it.

For a 200 mile car I can accept why he wants so much. He may need to wait a year or so but the values are only going one way.

I do believe there is also already a midnight blue car in the US. Car no 891. Original US car.

CGT000:

I do not know where you got your information about the Rosso Scuderia car being available for $1M but I can tell you unequivocally that is not true. It is not for sale, period.

Let me be clearer: a broker contacted me and asked if I would take $1M for the car. I said that if that offer was firm and in writing, I would consider it. First, it never came, and second, I decided it's not one of my collection that I would part with at this time regardless.

As the late, great Walter Cronkite said: "and that's the way it is".

Quick question to the guys buying the ultra low mile cars. Do you expect a car with under 500 miles to be serviced every year or do you just tuck them away for viewing pleasure?

How often would you consider acceptable for a 10 year old 500 mile car to see a service department?

I drive every one of my cars for about one week each year, which amounts to anywhere from 2-500 miles. My guys change the fluids in each every year, but for the CGT's, they do a more significant service only every four or five years (and not to take this thread in a totally different direction, but they do not believe in the engine coming out of these cars unless there is an issue that can only be solved thus).

Thanks for that. I agree about the engine out service. I understand that none if the cars that have had an engine out service here in the UK has actually needed any valve adjustment.

Do you use a porsche main dealer for the services or do you use non franchise shops.

Here in the UK we only have 1 official service centre who are authorised by Porsche GB to service these cars. If the cars are not serviced by this dealer it appears to seriously devalue them in the UK.
