Default 918 production line visit

For those wondering about "production delays" I thought I would share that for my car, ever since the initial delay early in the year my slot has held pretty firm in November. Close to two months ago I was given a date of October 29th for start of production. This afternoon I was notified for planning purposes that while "this can change" I should anticipate an opportunity to visit the car on the line between November 3-9th. Obviously this has nothing to do with delivery delays, or holds on shipping after production but all in all I think it continues to be a positive sign for depositors.

On another in note, I was told by a "little bird" that allegedly had a high placed Porsche source that the reason for the hold on the cars is because they would not be shipping anymore that could be fueled with the engine running. I do not know how reliable this information is but believe the person telling me would have access to such knowledge. That person continued that it would possibly be a software fix.

I don't know...delivered cars will tell the true story.

That is pretty much the response they have been giving me all along, they give the date and then throw qualifiers out there which makes it feel vague and unreliable. In the end the date has held pretty firm.

By my count, you should see your car in your hands 1st week of December, or if you are lucky last week of Nov.

Our factory visits to see the cars are 3 months apart yet you will get yours about 3-4 weeks behind mine.

Btw, the Breuninger in the middle of town centre has a Agent Provocateur boutique inside, would be a good shopping idea to bring back something for the wife to keep her happy

As expected, Porsche only firms up the date of production a week before hand.

You flying over?
