Yes, what would you like to know about it?

Overall condition, why only $800k was offered, what the English Dealer plans to do with the car now, any modifications, etc.

I was told the car had an excellent Service history and was mechanically sound. As to the low bid, it always depends on the people in the room..... and this car did not meet the reserve.

From what i understand a deal was made and the car was sold after the auction. And rumor has it that the car went to a west coast dealer.

Yes, I think I see an available open spot for it in Bruce's elevated 'rack' in Scotts Valley!

As he should. The same strategy as employed by the Mugrabi family when Warhol's are at auction - they both have a strong market position in a concentrated asset class and need to support it publicly.

TwinTurbo959, thanks for the explanations about how to identify the various versions.

Here are some pictures, taken during the Euro 928 2002.

Anytime!! What event is this? Any other pictures?

BTW, the "Copper" looking 959 is actually Kiln Red, and is a very very rare car.

Euro 928 2002.
This was in September 2002, at the factory of course.

You can spot a red US 959 S on the pictures. This one looked like it has stayed a long time outside, under a tree. What a shame!

GRUPPE B – GROUP B Cars

Most people compare the 959 to the F40. What most people do not realize is the F40 and 959 were never intended to be competitors. The F40 was Ferrari’s answer to the 959 beating its true competitor, the 288 GTO. The 959 was slatted for Gruppe B (Group B) racing, and it followed additional homologation requirements that FISA first established in 1979, whereby it allowed Four wheel drive vehicles to be entered.

Prior to 1983:
Gruppe 2 – minimum 1,000 cars/year, later replaced by Gruppe A in 1983
Gruppe 4 – these were production cars, with minimum 50 cars/year (1969), 500 cars/year (1971), 200 cars/year (1976), requirements changed over the years until in 1983 it was replaced by Gruppe B in 1983

In 1982, FISA made 3 classes for the 1983 race season:
Gruppe N – Production Cars, based on 4 seater or 2+2, minimum 5,000 cars produced/year (this number was later lowered)
Gruppe A – Modified Production Cars, based on 4 seater or 2+2, minimum 5,000 cars produced/year (this number was later lowered)
Gruppe B – Modified Sports cars, based on 2 or 4 seaters, minimum 200 cars/year. “The cars entered in the races were further modified (same modifications allowed as in Group A). Group B could in theory be used to homologate production sports cars, which could not be homologated in Group N or A, because they did not have four seats or were not produced in large enough numbers (e.g. cars like the Ferrari 308, the Porsche 911, etc.). The designation used in the regulations ("Sports Grand Touring Cars") shows this intention.” – wikepedia

At least one is missing, the 911 SC RS!
And this one is really interesting, just by the way it was homologated.

Also, others cars were homologated as Group B. By example, the 930 and the 928 S were.
