Default Took the plunge on a 918

After being on the fence for a long time, I took the plunge and placed my deposit for a 918.

Here's my spec, am I missing anything?

- dark metallic blue
- authentic mocha leather
- silver piping (instead of acid green)
- front lift
- sliver trim on seatbelt
- sliver calipers (I was told this is possible but not on configurator)

I didn't do the W package since I would just add back most what it took out. The only thing I really liked where the wheels.

Should be a good companion to my incoming satin polar silver P1!

Thanks!
Charles

Silver calipers are definitely available.
I don't care for the Mocha leather, but otherwise I completely support your build!

Hmmm... P1 and 918....That will make for an interesting decision come drive day.

Congrats!

If I was doing one (and I'm not, I cancelled my deposit), I sure like this black and white one:

IMO the wrapped cars will have better value going forward.

Could be... but you don't buy a 918 as an investment. If there is a profit to be made it's all upside. There are easier ways of making a return.

To consider:
Alcantara steering wheel
The acid washed rims look awesome in person (terrible on the configurator)
Less reflective dash
Don't forget that cup holder, or the dealer will charge you $5K for the part been after delivery

Biko:

Other things to consider:

Upholstery piece at driver entry ( n/c)
Cup Holder (n/c)
Home link (n/c)
Carbon Fiber Interior Pieces
Magnesium Wheels

If you ever go for a eco-drive in cold weather, get the PTC (Electric heating). Otherwise it's quite a cold interior for a long time (basically until you start the V8 ).

Enjoy the car!

Sounds like a good spec!

The silver calipers will look great, you might look at doing carbon fiber interior instead of the standard brushed aluminum.

The Weissach wheels can be ordered separately on the regular car.

The anti-glare matte carbon package is good to have, but for that you will need to put in a CXX order in order to keep the colour trim around the base, if not the whole dash piece will be matte black while the door pieces will still have the colour trim.

Check all the no-cost options, the cup holder, home link, the seat pad, etc. Not many chance you get for freebie Porsche options. Don't go for the factory stone guard film, they only cover tiny sections and you are better off having a wrap guy do the whole car.

Leather or alcantara steering wheel is just a personal choice.

If you don't order the carbon floor mats, I believe the car won't come with any. Not even basic black carpet one.

Colour key option also entitled you to a customized leather key pouch, if not it will just be black al lthe way around.

The Weissach pack car is on paper 84k more than the basic car, but if you add up all the standard order-able options like exterior carbon wing, roof mirrors, wheels etc, those will be over 77k already. So in effect you will be paying 7k for stuff that can't be added back to the standard car, i.e. a carbon windshield surround, the exterior aero bits, i.e. 2 rear flaps and 2 extra trim on the front fender vents, plus all the light weight internal components.

The difference in price is almost negligible after factoring everything.

Whatever stuff the Weissach pack deletes can be added back no-charge, even the front hood struts which is replaced by a carbon fiber rod to prop up the hood. Door handles, door storage pockets, glove box, etc are all no-cost add back options like the air-con and sound system.

You also add silver stitching to the steering wheel to match the interior piping, it's not on the dealer option list but it is an option.

Wheels can be custom painted if you don't like the standard silver, it will be a 5800 option, same price as the platinum satin finish.

We were told the other day there are base mats. They are pretty plain, but there are mats standard.
