my transmission died at approx 40k miles (30.000 refurbished, 45.000 new) and while this was done i had the clutch redone for 10.000. you need it serviced every 2 years, and after a small service 4.000 you need a large one 12.000 with enigine out. i guess clutch every 45k miles. everything else isnt cheap as well. in my view you need to do this, otherwise the value declines. owning a cgt, my life changed, my perspective for money is different now. everything else seems to be cheap.

Confused - I bought a brand new CGT clutch off the shelf for 9k just to have.

Why would a refurbished vs new be a 15k difference.

What do you mean your transmission died - a full engine out clutch etc runs 28 - 33k if there are other items neglected etc then add those in but a lot has to do with how the car was maintained for 13 years prior.

Serviced every two years - oil change and filters?

Owning a CGT is no more expensive than any other exotic - unless the driver has no idea how to use it and glazes the clutch.

Ferrari or Lambo or whatever 45k miles and see what it costs - let alone an F40 F50 F1 959 ... go see what those run over 13 years and 45k miles the CGT will seem cheap.

I think he's saying that a new transmission costs 30K (refurbished) or 45K (new). Why would someone need a new transmission at 45k miles is the real question.

You are correct which is a first odd everything went at the same time.

Then he added

We all know the proper dealers have the CGT dialed in for service and costs - agree curious.

Black / Ascot 3,600 mile CGT for sale with NO RESERVE at RM Amelia Island March 10-11.
If I didn't already acquire mine last fall, I'd be on this one...

I guess when you also have a 918, a P1 an Enzo, f40, and more you have to share the love!

while none of my cars are at the level of a CGT, I have to make a concerted effort to make sure they all get driven once in a while.

Very possible that the owner bought two - one to drive and one to be a garage queen and appreciate in value. IF he did it right, he could sell the one garage queen and it would have paid for both.

Are you looking for a car, or just mad people are asking what they are for theirs?

Not understanding how/why a used car salesman ended up in the CGT forum bashing asking prices??

Looks like a sweet car to me..... Price of a legend.
