Smokey's new threat
All those who are concerned about accumulating citations, particularly illegally written ones, should read this webpage. (If you feel it is your obligation to occasionally confess your flaws and pay your dues, no matter how unjustified the accusation, ignore the rest of this message. That line forms on the Right).

Smokey's got a new plot to extort your earnings and blood based on flawed science and you should beware of this before it is too late. It is already here. You need to be able to defend yourself against it, or join the above mentioned group of masochists. For older V-1 owners, there is no readily available upgrade at this time, but it is being developed they said. Keep checking the website for notification of availability. I suspect that Valentine wants to be certain it works properly and reliably before upgrades are available.

i hope you ran them up to a respectable reading....i LOVE doing that. (and that's one benefit of a V1 - you can see how many sources there are - just in case there is an officer also at the scene of the board...)

Ha! Ha! Ha! I always worry when I get a hit on the V1 from one of those boards that some bear is sitting somewhere close monitoring it. One of these days I will try for an outrageous reading.

Have you had any occasions to use your Lidatek? Did it perform as expected?

be warned: i recently saw a board operating, but was receiving 2 radar sources (thanks V1) - sure enough, there was a cop sitting right next to the board running HIS radar, too....hhhhmmmm.....
i have not gotten a 'test' of the lidatek as of yet, darn it.
short road trip (miami to tampa for the weekend) tomorrow, so that will be an opportunity.
of notice - i witnessed a new tactic (around here, at least) where an officer positions himself on an overpass shooting (what appeared to be) laser, targeting the REAR of vehicles below him - moving away - after they pass under the overpass.
i wasn't in the porsche, but i also have a V1 in my explorer - and got no warning out of the V1. i'm not surprised, due to the angle of the laser, not to mention the back of the explorer is loaded with gear, but they did have a cruiser positioned a bit farther down the road, so i'm pretty sure that's what they were doing. i saw this twice on the FL Turnpike here in S. FL.
makes me think about getting a 2nd lidatek transponder for rear coverage....

the LE30's units have been changed from those previously available from lidatek. they cover more "ground." they told me that 1 unit was adequate for the front of the 951 due to its already low front "signature" (hidden headlights - no front plate)
rear units are an option, of course.
