I've always loved Porsche since I was a kid (60's, 70's & 80's). So, I have a few of my Porsche toy cars from then. I started collecting small diecast cars (focusing on Porsche) again around 2001. I have waaaaay too many.....ask my wife, she'll tell you!

Wish I would have kept my childhood collection. My favorite part of Disneyland was its toy shop. There was a great selection of Hot Wheels.

My CMC centerpiece is listed in the For Sale section less than you can find it on ebay or Amazon. I'm getting more involved with a different hobby, and with two little girls running around now, I no longer feel safe having my models on display.

The only place I have high enough for display would be my fireplace mantle, but my wife took exception to that idea.

Cool thread! I definitely have the addiction too, as my wife would also verify. Have tried to stay with 1:43 in recent years due to running out of curio cabinets to put them in. And even then, I try to only get specific models that I want to collect. Wife has actually bought me a couple of nice small curios that she's allowed in other areas of the house outside of my office. I am dreading grand kids coming along soon as then there is the realization that little kids wanting to get at the colorful cars do not realize the dangers of glass cabinetry. A combo that just doesn't mix. Darn, not sure how I'm gonna convince my kids that they can't bring the little rascals over! jk Might take me a while, but I'll try to post a few pics of my collection in the near future.

Rather than post the oldest things first in my collection, I thought I would post the NEWEST addition to my collection.

Over the past 45 years, I have collected Porsche cars of all scales, including 1:1 (I didn't even know Porsches existed until I was 22 years old). I also collect toy trains and toy planes. Yes, I know, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (oh, and boats, too). Also Pontiac GTO's, Lamborghini's, and whatever else interests me.

So this month I ordered some more of the smallest Porches in my collection 1:160 scale, also known as N Scale or N Gauge for train collectors. I also have 1:220 scale but they are just too hard to photograph.

The pack included a 911 Turbo coupe, 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 944 Turbo, and a 928S. The names were cast underneath and the 911 Turbo also had a Copyright symbol and the letters PCNA 1985.

Sorry for the fuzzy pics. At this scale it is hard to get close-ups with my camera.

Here are a couple shots of my 996 Mk1 layout - all guards red, all scales from 1:18 to 1:160.

The little red N scale was also a new purchase and came in a two-pack with a black 996 Mk 1. The black one went onto my N Scale train layout in the Porsche dealership. The red one joined its larger brothers on the shelf.

Also on my N Gauge train layout is a Porsche 356C Cabriolet.
The young woman is hand washing the cabrio. That tiny silver dot on the driveway next to her is an actual scale bucket. Typical, blonde, she is washing the car with the top down.

And there are two chics sunbathing on the second story deck.

I like your Donzis. I bought an old RC Miss Budweiser years ago just to display. I also found a Miss Geico turbine powered cat scale model a few years back.

I collect 1:18's and have a variety of models. I am currently repainting a 993 turbo in Polar Silver, which I personally think is a great color for the 993T.

Any tips you could share on a respray on a UT. i have two identical 993 gt1s. It's the porsche crest and windows that have me worried.

Ooooh yes, those little things! I've never seen them in that packaging though. I could be wrong, but I think they are only available as re-tools these days. But then again, I can't imagine it is possible to actually distinguish between the original 1985 pieces and a replica.

To do a respray you will want to disassemble the model. If you can strip the paint off first, you will get better results (won't look as thick as painting over existing paint). By disassembling you will avoid windows issues. For the crest, you can source replicas on ebay.

There are several diecast forums out there, and people will pretty readily share their experiences in modifying their models.
