OK Randy V,
Photos of my 1/43 model road cars coming up, I've been away from this thread and I still would love a 1/43 996 GT3 model, any colour. Man, the pressure!

Howdy,
As Promised, I still desire a 1/43 996GT3 Model, any colour.
Some of my past and current autos are not shown here, "someday" projects I guess.
Cheers!

1966 VW 1300, @17 years old, Java Green, Extra Driving Lights, Exhaust.
Rolled it, Marilyn S. and I ended up in the back seat. Again.

1970 BMW 2002, Driving Lights, Stebro Exhaust, Dark Blue on Colorado Orange, drove both ways across Canada twice, Mexico and beyond.

1978 Fiesta, Scirocco Killer, Stripper but same 1600 cc engine, added stripes and blackout rear. Light Fun.

1981 VW Cabrio, Phone Dial Mags, Driving Lights, Stebro Exhaust, lots of smiles.

1986 Corvette Z51, Kept it perfect for 17 years, fast and a great car.

2000 Boxster S, Best all around DE Day and Road sportscar that I know of.

The whole lot.

Some Ferraris.

Question

I have always been a Hot Wheels collector, even at a young age. Most of these I bought about 10 years ago. The 928 is from the last run before they retired the model. The 25th anniversary of Hot Wheels 3 pack with the 928 in it, I still remember getting as a kid in Vicksburg, Mississippi. My brother and I both got them and I saved mine, while he opened his and immediately put the buckle on his belt. I have a pretty extensive collection of 1/64 scale and had a thread in off topic with a lot of pics - link below.

This is one of the bookcases. Sorry for the crappy iphone/basement pics. I have about 3 more cases like this. Maybe time for a REAL camera?

^^ Nice collection. I wish I had the room for a larger scale collection, but my I don't have enough room to display all of my 1/64th stuff as is.

Default Porsche 901 1:18 Scale by CMC

By far the most detailed model I've ever come across... Bad phone pics.

The fabric behind the fuel door moves out of the way to show the fuel cap and the antenna extends and retracts.

Even comes with a little wrench to remove the wheel; showing the disc brakes behind them.

I removed the frunk carpeting.

The suspension does actuate correctly, both front and rear.

The End.

Lucky - what's the story with the 944 Turbo Hot Wheels model? I just got one of the cars [no box] - hard to locate - like to know more.

I have one of those still in the box as well. I got it at Toys 'R' Us around 1997 I think.

Actually, its only "rare" if you look for a hotwheels 944 turbo. It's...duh...a matchbox.

They are available on Ebay for anywhere from $5 up.

Still would like the story on Lucky's boxed version.

Mine is the same as his. Black box, "gold" coin, and all. I think it was like $8 new.

I picked it up off eBay right after I bought the 951. It was a limited run of 5000 pieces that were in that box and came in a triangular shaped plastic case that housed the open box. I think I paid around $20 for it. There was another one for sale on eBay with BIN for $15 back in December. I wanted to buy it, but auction ended without sale before I went back to buy it. I will post a picture of the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe that I have that is the same setup by Matchbox. I took the 951 out of the plastic triangular case as it was not in pristine condition.

C2CAB, that model is very cool!

Here's what it would look like in the original packaging. I have had this Turbo Coupe for many years. I had 2 of the real ones and have many stories from driving them. I took the pic from the side so you can see the triangle display case.

I don't believe you. Show me!

The suspension - does it use springs, or actual torsion bars?

Take care,
