New Macan S coming - NY
Hello everyone, first post here!
Placed an order and traded in my Genesis Coupe 3.8 for a new Macan S. I'm also set to do ED in Leipzig on 3/21 so I'm super excited about that.
Firstly, here's the car that I'm getting:
PHY378Q0
The Porsche Code*
This is what I've gotten on status updates so far:
V250 Vehicle Fixed- 2/10
V260 Vehicle Entry Bodyshop- 2/20
V300 Vehicle Complete- 2/24
Does this look like typical timing? They can finish building the car in 4 days?
I'm also looking to receive the welcome packet from Porsche around next week and the dealer is also starting to ask for my $10-15k VAT deposit.

I just came back from my 1500 mile European Delivery trip in Leipzig. My route was: Leipzig - Nuremburg - Metz - Reims - Brussels - Nurburgring - Weimar - Leipzig
A few highlights of my trip were:
-Of course the delivery day - everything was 100% perfect, 100% efficient, just like many other things in Germany (they're some damn efficient people)
-Cruising at 100mph+ on the german highways. driving up to 140mph on short bursts. being passed by cars while I was going 110, they were going 120. drivers abide by the rules of the road very well, felt safe, and loved the smooth highway roads.
-The car feels planted cruising 100mph+, that's where it belongs, I felt no shakiness, no lightness, minimal wind noise. Cruising at 60mph feels like a crawl. Shifting at 5k-6k rpms is where the beautiful exhaust sounds hit. PDK has some lightening fast up and downshifts. I took up to 6 or 7000 rpm on the 'ring and boy did it work well.
-Brakes: fine for everyday driving, needs improvement for spirited and track driving.
-The tires, suspension, and brakes were pushed to the limit when I took the car to the nurburgring. On the second lap, I felt the tires understeering and the brakes were fading. But then again, I was using their provided winter tires =P
-I was able to keep both German plates, I was also provided a hazard triangle and a first aid kit, and a USA Plate mounting bracket. I had to take everything on my carry on coming home.
-Gifts at the nurburgring are much cheaper than Porsche clothing and accessories
-I also was able to get free entry into the Stuttgart museum and stopped by the MB museum (boring).
-I asked for a discount off a few items at the store in Stuttgart and got 10% since i just bought one of their cars.
Hotels i stayed at: rated in * by personal preference. but i would stay at any of them again.
Leipzig: Steigenberger Grandhotel Leipzig (paid for by Porsche) ***
Nuremberg: Park Plaza Nuremberg **
Stuttgart: Ringhotel Adler Asperg **
Reims: Hotel Mercure Reims - The only hotel where I had a nasty experience. don't go there.
Brussels: Sofitel Brussels Le Louise **
Nurburgring: Landhaus Sonnenhof **
Fulda: Hotel Fulda Mitte **
Weimar: Hotel Elephant ***
All had parking. some were outdoors, some were in a parking lot in the same building as hotel, some were valet but i opted to just self park it at the closest indoor parking lot and walk to the hotel. Some hotels offered free parking, some were $15/day.
Everything is still fresh in my mind so ask me anything you'd like about ED.
