UPDATE: Over a week later, and I still don't have it back. Local dealer could not get the rattles sorted. So they sent it to Leipzig for them to work on. Still driving the C4 GTS Cabrio in the meantime.

Could be worse. Given weather we have currently the convertible is probably the better choice.

Indeed! Quite honestly I'm enjoying the "loaner" GTS more than I'd be enjoying the Macan at the moment. Next week, when family arrives and I need a proper back seat, the situation will suddenly change, however....

Just tell Niederlassung Munchen that, until yours is returned, you want a loaner Macan, Panamera or Cayenne.

I got a loaner C4 GTS Cabrio and I like it better than my Macan! :-)

I think the recommendation is to get a Macan, Cayenne or Pana when you need more space next week. Just make sure they don't give you the hybrid, this is such a sh$%#t box....

Got a call from the service manager... He proclaimed "the rattles are dead!"

Picking it up on Friday.

While we're on the subject, I've been hearing a small, barely noticeable rattle coming from the left lower dash near the driver door that comes and goes. On one hand I don't like it. On the other hand, I don't want to put my new car in the hands of a tech who may screw things up during dis-assembly/reassembly, and not tell the service manager. What should I do?

If it annoys you as much as the rattleS (note: plural) in mine annoyed me, I would definitely take it in. If they screw something up, make them fix that too. Just keep taking it back until everything is acceptable. It's their problem, make them deal with it.

If the radio is on, even at low volume, I can't hear it. If the radio is off, I hear it occasionally. 2800 miles on the clock. Even from a principle standpoint, it's a bit annoying.

Totally agree. It's annoying on multiple levels. I paid almost 6 figures for a (supposedly) high-quality Porsche that has more rattles and issues, right out of the factory, than my 10+ year old Jeep Grand Cherokee that has over 130k miles! That, in my opinion, is a problem...

Got it back today. There are still rattles. I deeply loathe this car. It will be sold the moment it touches the ground in the US. Build quality is absolutely awful. I think they have officially given up trying to sort all the rattles.

Pathetic. I guess that is what happens when Porsche tries to mass produce... Quality goes out the window. Would sure expect more from Porsche.

For the rest of my trip, I'm renting the Carrera GTS from Avis. Driving this Macan rattle trap annoys me so much that it puts me in a bad mood.

Fully realizing you are fed up and exasperated but, speaking from experience (and in particular with Porsche), I heartily recommend that you firmly demand that Porsche make it right to your complete satisfaction or have the transaction cancelled....and no way would I rent a car. Make them continue to loan you a vehicle until the matter is resolved. You can tell them that the entire ordeal is being monitored by the entire RENNLIST community. Very bad advertising and PR.
