GLA 45 AMG?

Maybe they do last a long time but so did the stock pads on my 996. Half down at 40k mile. I changed them myself anyway. Almost a 10 min job per wheel.
The wear indicators was where the most trouble I was careful so I didn't damage them. I expect to get similar wear on my 997.
Maybe my new Cayenne will use brakes faster I just don't know. I would think the main advantage of PCCB would be track use but I have only tracked my car once so I haven't really checked what the regulars have to say about it.

Agree, they are overpriced for any driving. Not that porsche's brakes are weak to begin with. My comment had to do with the cost and why it's not used for frequent track driving. Occasional DE is probably would not be considered heavy track use. Btw, cup car comes with steel rotors.

I thought about the GLA45 but then ordered a Macan S Diesel.
One reason is space, while not the spaciest car on earth, the Macan is significantly larger than the GLA. And the GLA is a hooligan with regard to exhaust note.
So I thought the Macan is more sensible and will get fantastic mileage with the diesel plus large fuel tank. And I always have a sporty car for the real fun (just bought a Cayman R, before it was an Evora S). And wifey loved the Macan when we test drove it.

This whole thread cracks me up. Macan is an SUV and GLA45 AMG is a Hot Hatch. Don't see much reason to cross shop or different strokes for different folks.

Got any links for this? I know MB quality has been slipping for a while, but has it gotten so bad a critical design part like a turbo is experiencing widespread failures already?

M-B quality recently plummeted in JD Powers (I believe) and/or Consumer Reports from one of the top spots to like #26. A lot of that has to do with the (imo POS) GLA and CLA models.

Quality control, let's see 6GT3 coolant fitting failures and leaking RMS. 7.1GT3 leaky RMS and Coolent fitting failure, 997.2RS had self destructing clutches, excessive transmission wear, and Variocam bolts backing out and destroying engines. 7.2 4.0RS had a bolt in the intake come loose and destroy engines. Least we for get the Exploding 997.1 GT3 engines. 😢

I suggest you spend some time on Panamera forum, those cars spend more time at dealers being fixed than driven.
Have you seen video of a guy made a video of his new 991? The car was a lemon and porsche didn't want to admit it.
Not to mention IMS on older 911's and new GT3 motors catching fire.
