2006 vs 2009 cup differences?
Can anyone compile a list of differences between the early 997 and mid 997 generation cup cars?
I am looking at both 06 and 09 cars at present.
TIA

early 05-07
late 08-09
early: single flap intake manifold
Late: Dual flap intake (more power)
early: 996 style headers and exhaust
late: cats in headers, street style gt3 muffler or open supercup style
early: rear bumper for early exhaust
late: rear bumper looks more like the street gt3
The early transmissions if not updated have the narrow gears, non floating dog teeth, narrow shift forks and the cast diff housing. A lot of early cars have had updates done but if not, it can be very pricey to fully update an early transmission and diff. The early cars also have a slightly shorter 5th and 6th gear ratio.
It is hard to update the early intake manifold because a lot of the water console parts are different. The late intake and exhaust gives the car 15 or so more hp. The supercup exhaust another 5-6.
There may be more differences but that is a quick list of what I remember.

Mufflers are different. Street cars have two inputs per side. Cup muffler is single per side and has less baffling inside. Integrated tips as well.
