Thanks skidbum and rbahr, that will be handy to know when inspecting car.

For the record, I would not recommend the M&M cup system if noise is a concern. Mine was reasonable for the first 5,000kms (mostly street use) and the muffler has opened up to the point where it is louder than the cup car. The system is a work of art, however.

Just wanted to give some info for others out there living near sound-restricted sound. So my 996 cup with a street GT3 motor bored to 3.8 was at 106dB with cup 997 muffler (no cats). We put a street GT3 muffler and capped the PSE hole incoming to the muffler and created a custom fabbed piece from the header to the muffler. Now it is 95dB. Just needed it to clear 103dB but the fact that I don't have to go home after an out lap with a corner worker having a seizure waving the black flag with the orange circle at me is worth the potential 10hp loss to the car.

The catless headers are piped directly into the 997 center canister muffler, but as there are two inlets on the center muffler, one, presumably the PSE passthrough, only the inlet going to the muffled section of the center canister was used, the other was capped/welded closed. I have no side mufflers installed.
