Thanks Matt. Looked at Pegasus and all of their sheets are thin, non-reinforced. Need something a bit more substantial so it does not flex.

The factory RSR piece is not super stiff (I have one) and way less than 1/4" thick. It's not a cored piece. It gets the rigidity from having the ADL bolted to it in 3 places, and being bolted to the dash.

It's really easy to make a nice flat sheet of carbon fiber. It's a lot cheaper than buying prefabbed. You can even put a foam core in it. Dragonplate is super overpriced in my experience. Look around online or if you want a fun project make a sheet yourself. The materials are not particularly expensive and flat pieces are easy. If you lay up the carbon on a sheet of glass or a mirror it will have a super smooth finish.

My gauge panel is only 1/16" thick....and it does not flex etc .... IMO a 1/4" panel would be overkill... another dash was built for a Cayman GTB the same except the gauges were installed without the Longacre base...and used the same thickness... no issues. The other source was Pegasus and my invoice shows I used them vs. Dragon Plate due to much better price (as Matt noted). Quality of the plate is nice.
