test drove this car, when warming up it had a clacking almost air cooled vw noise. Went away quickly. I also test drve a 14 base, did not have the same noise on startup. Is this common? Any feedback appreciated. Thoughts on price?

Lightly optioned for sure, but that is often a good thing. I have an '09 Base as a DD and it has plenty of power.
I never understood the Base vs. S debate when one finds the car they want especially given the relative scarcity of 987.2's. Unless you're driving the fastest car in the world (all the time), then everybody else is just in second place so who cares, right? Plus, very few of us will ever drive any Porsche at its limits. I know I never will.
The price listed seems a little high by a couple grand. I paid $36,500 for mine with 15k miles in 2014 and it literately was in perfect condition. My MSRP was $2,500 higher than this one.
Good luck,
Eddie
