Default Cayman desk toy from Porsche?

Merry Christmas I guess... Anybody else get the 918 Cayman desk toy? A heavy round metal ball with a small Cayman that rides around on top without falling off.

Yup, I got it as well. Could not have been cheap to make/send...now what to do with it?

Yup, I also received one. Either Porsche is getting desperate to sell 718s, or they figure that a year-and-a-half is long enough to have a GT4 and it's time to buy something else.

It's an interesting toy. It held my 15-year-old's attention for over 2 minutes, which is about 90 seconds longer than anything non-electronic has been able to do for quite a while. He enjoyed making the car "drift" sideways.

I got one as well.
I'd rather they spend the money elsewhere. Must have cost a fortune in packaging alone!

The packaging was almost more intense than the toy, and almost as heavy. I'm thinking Porsche Design was involved... haha

It definitely makes you wonder about the 718, and if you'd trade in the 987.

I also received the book last night. Same book as with the toy, except this one has the case.

Either Porsche is really pushing the 718, or they have two different advertising managers who are not coordinating who gets what promo.
