So I somehow have a torn CV boot...

Had to have my 2013 Boxster S replaced last year. Left rear outer started to weep grease. My indy mechanic says the outer boot rubber gets hard sooner from tracking brake heat. Not a cheap labor cost to pull the rear axles and do both inner and outer on both sides.

my inner boot clamp is loose, i can spin it w/ my hand. i plan to just repack w/ grease and a new boot strap

Thanks for your kind reply. In retrospect I am simply wanted people to be aware of a potential problem because I drove several years that way and it was hard to spot. They have a related recall you should check out:https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...1V679-0595.pdf
