Default Key comes out - engine keeps running

Good Morning. 2008 Cayman owner here.

Yesterday, I pulled into the garage, turned the key left, and pulled it out. Just as always, it slid out easily. To my surprise, the engine was still running. So, I put the key back in, turned to the left again, and the engine stopped.

Is this yet another secret Porsche "feature" of some kind, or is my Porsche haunted?

I had this many years ago with a different car. It was a disconnected ground from the engine to the car body.

No further issues and no repeat of the phenomenon. I am slowing down to assure that the audible click is heard prior to turning the switch. Perhaps I can delay an inevitable replacement.
