Rennlist --

Just signed up with a one year membership today. Been lurking for a long time and to decided sign up today.

Was all slated to purchase one of the remaining 2016 Cayman Base with the following options (deposit was down) until a very good thing happened (I got into my top choice graduate program after nine years in public sector):

Base Cayman
BLK/BLK
6MT
X73
PTV
Sports Seats
Sports Steering Wheel
Red Gauge Cluster
Red Seat Belts
XM
Convenience Package

Discussed with wife and we decided it would be smart to wait one year to the day That said, I had a great experience through the dealership and they refunded my deposit although I was hoping they would give me a problem

Am eagerly awaiting initial tests and reviews of the 718. Not bringing any bias into the fray but if it doesn't meet the "fun" meter that the 981 has set, than I will source a CPO 981.

Am a huge Porsche (and BMW) fan. Fond memories of spending time with my father in his 911 Carrera (first batch to come to US in AWD; his was "accidentally" a Euro Spec, ). Also owned a 938 Turbo in a gorgeous bluish/silver, and before that, a 928. Definitely have the bug.

Car will be a DD and pull auto-X duties as well as a few occasional HPDEs on the weekends.

Currently own: BMW E92 335iS DCT
Previous rides: 370 Z 6MT with Sport Package
Subaru Legacy GT 5MT with Stage One Cobb and JDM Subaru Mods

So, you're going to be a lawyer, huh?

Congrats on grad school and there will always be a Cayman out there for you.

You made a very smart decision. An education is something nobody can ever take away from you. I hope you are back in one year.
