Got my first Porsche today!
Hey guys, I wanted to show off my new Cayman S. I've been planning to get a nice 996 C4S for a couple of years now, but yesterday I came across this car and forgot all about it.
I work at a BMW dealership, and this was traded in: a one-owner '06 Cayman S with just over 30k miles. I love the color combination, and the price was right so I jumped on it. I don't know much about these cars, but a big plus seems to be that I shouldn't have to worry about all the IMS (etc.) issues that the 996 models have.

Very nice. Lapis Blue?
A nice low-mileage car there. Do you have service records to know where the car sits in terms of any possible maintenance needed?
The first generation Cayman came with Porsche's M97 engine that was built with a larger IMS bearing and these engines apparently have seen very few IMS problems thus far. The older Porsche engines that were more problematic were an M96 series engine built from 1997 thru 2005.
I don't know if you have driven a 996 yet or not but the Cayman will drive differently than a 996.
You should find it has sharper reflexes, quicker turn in, and a stiffer ride. It feels smaller and more agile. The cabin is smaller and more intimate and the materials and design are more modern.
The 996 leans more toward a GT in its ride and handling dynamics, although it truly is still a sports car.
What options are on your car? Interior color? More photos?

I'm loving driving it so far, it is my new daily driver and the fastest 300hp car I've ever owned. Thanks for the tips and the welcome.
Question: I have the stock stereo without Nav, is there an easy way to add Bluetooth without changing out the whole unit?

I'm not too keen on spending nearly $1000 on a double-din NAVI head unit, plus another $250 for the Euro Motorspeed dash kit... I'm lead to understand this is really my only option. Is that true? or can I just head to Best Buy and get a deck for a few hundred bucks?

Motorola makes a decent Bluetooth device which you keep on a rear view visor, and it links via a radio station.
it gives you Bluetooth and it will play your music apps via the radio.
Not high fidelity but it works

I have and use the same unit, moving it from vehicle to vehicle. It works as advertised for playing music via your cellphone. I don't have much experience using it as a cellphone interface though.
