2012 Cayman question
Do you hear the electric engine compartment cooling fan noise from the drivers side snork when cruising around with the drivers window down?
Asking because we used to have 06 Cayman S.
Great car.
The only thing i didn't like was the electric fan noise.
It overwhelmed engine / exhaust sounds when it would kick on while cruising 20 - 40 mph in town.
particularly annoying when stopped at a red light.
picky-a$$ question I know, but i would like to know.
thank you
Craig

I believe the cooling fan actually exhausts out of the passenger side. At least that is the side that the noise comes from on my '06 CS and '09 Boxster.
I can hear the fan at times with the windows down, but it doesn't seem to be obtrusively loud.
Perhaps you have a fan with a bad bearing, or a baffle is missing, etc?
The real solution is to have a louder exhaust of course!

Shouldn't be hearing that on the driver's side. That's engine air intake only. The fan is the passenger side. If it's really that noticeable - something isn't right. I only hear mine when my engine is off, and I'm standing outside the car, next to it.
