Default 981 Cayman Facelift

Hey all,

Any news on when the 981 mid-cycle refresh will be coming? I assume a year after the 991 gets its facelift (rumored to be debuted at Frankfurt this year). However, a local dealer said that the refresh may not be due until 2017 or 2018.

I am trying to decide whether to order a 2015 model, or wait until the refresh. However, I'd like to get a "good" deal with a solid discount off MSRP. Is it safe to assume that with a refreshed model that you won't see any substantial discounts in the early going (the first year)? or is it still possible to get a good discount right out of the gates with a refreshed model?

To wait 6 months to a year after the refresh that would put me at the earliest mid 2017 or early 2018, which is a long time to wait!

are the refreshed models usually worth the wait?

thanks!

The 981.2 wil have a turbo 4 instead of the flat 6 with mild cosmetic tweaks. Hard to say about the discounts as no one knows what the deman (or lack thereof) will be for the new engine.

Can't answer your question, but if you haven't ordered one yet, when you do it will be a 2016, not a 2015.
