Default GT3 Control Arm

I want to buy GT3 control arm for my 2010 Cayman and I've done some research and I got 997 331 041 99 and 997 331 042 99 part #.
Anyone knows the different between the two?
I believe there are long ones and short ones, which do I use for front and rear?

There are several part numbers for control arms. The reason you have different ones though is because they're left and right specific with the even number being for the passenger side and the near corresponding odd number being for the driver's side. This aspect of it is dictated by the round center "caster puck" in the middle of the control arm that has an offset hole for LF/RF and changing caster with the stock arm but you don't want that on the track. In addition, if you are going on track and you are going to be adding a solid rear toe link ever, which is typically the first thing people do with these cars, you do NOT want the rubber inner control arm bushing in the rear...or front for that matter. If you would like, feel free to call our shop as there are several aftermarket offerings from top tier companies or send me an email...but calling the shop is the single best way to reach me as the emails pile up and i get buried and fail to get to them in a timely manner. we love the phone! Thanks!

John

If I remember right, it's the 996 GT3 LCA's that fit the Cayman. I'd check with a race shop to make sure.

99634112290 Wishbone (DRIVER SIDE) $267.42
99634112190 Wishbone (Passenger Side) $267.42
Plus the inner rubber bushing for $92ea or aftermarket with spherical about $300ea
Total of around $1150

But, the 997 part# is $1300ea. What a big different in price.
Do you think I can use the 996 part# and going to do the same job?

If you try and use the 996 part numbers you need the more narrow front track rod from the 996 to fit the center caster bushing OR you need a spacer like the one from RSS. Feel free to PM me or call the shop at (386)672-3336 if you want additional information.

I did the research a while back, its better to just go with RSS if you are going new. It comes with the shims and can set it up how you need it for your car (monoballs, caster, etc). Otherwise, wait for something in the classified ads to show up if you want to save some money. Usually the winter when everyone is selling parts and building cars.
