Someone should really go and find out the real deal is.
Someone checked back with one of the Cayman teams this morning.
The 3.4 transmission is a direct bolt-in, but the the flanges for the half-shafts are different.
You must either use the "S" half-shafts or change the output flanges on the tranny. Whether or not the hub flanges need to be changed if using the "S" half-shafts wasn't made clear.

Anyone knows what WC Cayman used for tranny? They are racing this weekend in Taxes.
The WC Caymans are the S, at least in GTS.

Which team?

I am a corner worker and will be working 14 at Sebring next week. I will be there every sanctioned day, starting on Wed.

Unfortunately, I can't bring my Cayman to Sebring 'cause it won't pull a travel trailer.

I was just checking the grand-am ST rule book and they never mantioned about which tranny to use, it only said OEM (I assume stock base model cayman.) But, WC rulebook shows that Cayman S tranny is allow. What is the disadvantage of keeping my base cayman tranny vs cayman S?
ST class Cayman in Tudor (no longer Grand-Am) is the base model.

In PWC, the GTS Cayman is the S model.

Cool. I did not realize they ran the base in TC. Good to know.

Don't want to know the results as I will be watching on Saturday on CBSSN.

Autometrics. Car 24 and 04 in ST. We aren't planning on going to Sebring. Shifted our focus to WC this year. We ran Daytona this year in ST though. The TC spec is slightly different but we are using the same cars. The numbers are 03 and 04 in WC.

Yes, I believe so.
They are the same gear ratio between the PDK Base and PDK S tranny.

We're running the S trans in our #00 2.9 base Cayman in TC with the base axles and flanges and the case is the same part number as the case on our base trans that came out. The GT diff we have in the car now is the same as the diff in the #83 Next level European ST Cayman in IMSA built by BGB that I also work on.

Default 2.9 transmission on a 3.4 S cayman

Just double checking. Is possible to install a 2.9 transmission on a 3.4 engine both are non-locking. My transmission broke and the 2.9 is more accessible. Any disadvantages of doing this?
